Foundation Facial FAQ
What is a Foundation Facial?
Foundation facial also known as Korean "bb glow" treatment follows the same protocol as a cosmetic needling procedure. Using a microneedling pen to intentionally wound the skin, prompting it to heal itself of any scars and texture previously present. Taking it a step further, pigmented stem cells and hyaluronic acid are infused using a nano needle. This will act as a sheer, light coverage skin tint to further camouflage scars and blemishes. A few minutes of LED light therapy for anti-aging completes the treatment.
What are the benefits?
Skin is likely to have less noticeable blemishes and smoother texture. This is generally the outcome of a standard cosmetic needling procedure even without the use of pigment. Incorporating pigmented stem cells does provide a “filter effect” or illusion of a tinted moisturizer, also known as the “no makeup” makeup look. This significantly simplifies makeup application process or in some cases it’s just no longer needed.
How long does it last?
A couple months on average. Results become more noticeable with more treatments. The first 3-5 treatments are recommended 2-4 weeks apart and then maintenance 2-4 times a year in order to effortlessly maintain the “filter effect”. This depends on the desired results as far as how much coverage you want, as well as the skin's starting point at the time of first treatment.
